MANAGER'S REPORT

Here we are in the eighth month of the year and how the time has flown by. It is my birthday
month as well as the start of my sixth anniversary year as your manager. I always like to thank my
staff for their hard work and the Directors and owners for their loyal support.

The clubhouse # 2 pool is open... Now all I hear is how great the pool looks and what an
improvement with the new deck and how happy everyone is they are able to swim. Hopefully we
will not have any major shut downs for a few years, only small maintenance repairs.

I hope everyone has made their plans on where they are going in case of a hurricane. Make sure
you have all the survival items in your home, water, batteries, candles, battery operated radio, food
and an alternative way to cook. If you're to be picked up by Sarasota County your paper work
should be turned in by now. The media and weathermen are saying we are in for a lot of
hurricanes this year but I am hoping this is so much hype. The media and weathermen have been
wrong so many times and what crystal ball do they have that they can make these outlandish
projections. We still have to make our plans and stick to the plan. (None of our clubhouses
are hurricane shelters.)

Russell's Tree Service will be trimming our palm trees during the month of August. The plan is
to install fire hydrants as soon as our contractor can finish up a large project that he has underway.
The blue roofs are to be painted on both clubhouses and out buildings. The fence is to be installed
behind the homes on Cervina Drive south from Cortina Blvd. west to connect to the fence behind
the Kia dealership. Last month we installed three new large A/C units on the roof of
clubhouse # 2 ( A crane was needed ). This completes this project because one was installed last
year. Clubhouse # 2 has nine new A/C units within the last 6 years. Clubhouse # 1 has only one
small unity that needs to be replaced when it is necessary. We had to install some new A/C duct
work in clubhouse # 1. The old was coming apart inside and black pieces were blowing out
through the vents.

An interesting quote from Sir Winston Churchill: A lie gets halfway around the world before the
truth has a chance to get its pants on.

Some residents have asked about all the activity of surveyors and well drilling on the property at
our front entrance. There have been two different survey crews at this property the past month.
One team surveyed the property, the well drilling was mistaken for core samples. This is an
indication the owner is getting ready to submit plans to the county to build. We are to be notified
when this happens. The other survey crew was surveying U.S. 41 to widen. It seems the widening
of U.S. 41 by-pass has been put back in the state budget. I do not have any other information as of
this date on this project, but my gut feeling is we will see some type of action within the next year
giving us a start date.
Don DeMott

FROM YOUR PRESIDENT

Hello Everyone -
Bev and I will be leaving to visit our children in Oklahoma and Connecticut. We are
looking forward to visiting with our four (4) children and ten (10) grandchildren and friends.
Hopefully; all of you the same opportunity.

I have appointed Bob Pauly to head the Search Committee for persons who are interested in
running for the Board of Directors of V.I. .

I would like to clear the air regarding the "Church Memo " fiasco. On June 28, 2005, I sent an
email memo to the members of the V.I.Board of Directors, regarding a matter that I considered to
be of a serious nature. It had to do with the use of park facilities with regard to religious groups. I
mentioned that I could see other religious groups using park facilities. Since we had allowed one
religious group to use park facilities, then, how could we refuse other religious groups the same
opportunity to practice their faith? I shared my thoughts and concerns with the Board of Directors
and asked for their thoughts. Please be assured that there was no request for any vote!!!
This memo was for Board of Director member's eyes only!!! It never should have been made
available to anyone else. The releasing of the information in this memo was a blatant breach of
confidentiality and the releasing of this information by a member of the V.I. Board of Directors
was a blatant breach of ethics.

Being a Director of the V.I.Board of Directors carries the responsibility to see to it we are
financially responsible (Fiduciary Responsibility) for the welfare and safety of the park
shareholder. We also must be able to address matters of concern that come to our attention and
discuss these concerns in a manner that is beneficial to all shareholders.

All memos generated by Directors to the V.I. Board of Directors must, I repeat, must be kept
confidential. If a spouse of a Director is privy to any memo, he or she has to honor the same
confidentiality, otherwise, it could cause chaos among the membership and apparently this has
happened.

Many letters and emails have been received and I do appreciate your concerns and good thoughts.
But, there have been a few that have resorted to name-calling, hatred and bigotry.
Here are some quotes:
1."The people who are attending the activities should make the decision, not an
atheist, agnostic or non-believer." (Person has made an ignorant statement)
2."I don't think it is right for one "Muslim" to come into the park and change what has never
been a problem before." (This is clearly a discriminatory statement! I hope that you agree
with me when I say that we don't want people who think like that in Venice Isle.) I was
brought up in a family that taught us we were all God's children.
3. "This president, Dane Hassan, should be lucky to live in our park. ( What does our
park mean? Are you saying only your select members own this park? I think not !)

A little background to those of you who mention the young people who are fighting for our
rights here in the United States of America. My parents came to this country for a better life.
I was very fortunate to be born in this country. I have served in the military as has my brother,
uncles, cousins and my sons. My oldest son fought in the first Gulf War and my youngest son and
his wife are both currently in he U.S. Air Force, and have served in war zones. I also have served
the State of Connecticut as a trooper, retiring after 25 years, and my oldest son currently is a
Connecticut State Trooper. To your statement, I should be lucky to live here, you are correct,
I am lucky to have been able to choose Venice Isle Estates for my wife and myself as a place to
life.(sic)

This church matter was blown out of proportion and taken totally out of context.
NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN!!! Don't listen to rumors. Remember, a rumor only gets
bigger and untruths enter into the picture. And no action will take place without a full board being
present to discuss all the facts and ramifications of any action in the future. We, the Board
members, have agreed in the past that any action taken, unless in the case of any emergency, will
not be taken until all the members are present. As president of the Venice Isle Estates, Board of
Directors, I will not tolerate any more breaches of confidentiality by Board Members or their
spouses. If any future breach should occur, I will ask the Board of Directors to move that that
director, or request that director submit his or her resignation immediately.

Now we find ourselves in the hurricane season. Let's hope that our season isn't a repeat of last
year. We were lucky with "Dennis" and it would be great if that's the pattern we will have for the
rest of the season. Please take care, be prepared and have a good summer.
Dane Hassan
President, VIHO

NOTES FROM NEVILLE

Venice Isle Real Estate is on track to sell more homes at higher prices this year than any since I
have been here. The fall selling season is also fast approaching. Sales will typically pick up this
month and continue at a good pace until closer to Thanksgiving. Hopefully we will not have any
storms that will affect us. Last year had some lulls during the storms but always picked up a week
or so after each of them. Call Neville or Kim at the Sales office to discuss what we can do for
you. One of the buyers coming in now may be for your home.

As always, we love to talk about what is happening in Real Estate in Venice Isle so come by and
chat with Kim or Neville.

YOU KNOW YOU'RE IN FLORIDA IN JULY WHEN....

The birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
The trees are whistling for the dogs.
The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance
Hot water now comes out of both taps.
You can make sun tea instantly.
You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron!
The temperature drops below 95 and you feel a little chilly.
You discover that in July it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.
You discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
You actually burn your hand opening the car door.
You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.
Your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and
end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
You realize that asphalt has a liquid state.
The potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and
add butter, salt and pepper.
Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying
boiled eggs.
The cows are giving evaporated milk. Ah what a place to call home.
God Bless our State of FLORIDA

FLORIDA BLESSING

Bless this house, oh Lord, we cry.
Please keep it cool in mid-July.
Bless the walls where termites dine.
While ants and roaches march in time.

Bless our yard where spiders pass
Fire ant castles in the grass.
Bless the garage, a home to please
Carpenter beetles, ticks and fleas.

Bless the love bugs, two by two
The gnats and mosquitoes that feed on you.
Millions of creatures that fly or crawl,
In FLORIDA, Lord, ou've put them all!

But this is home, an here we'll stay,
So thank you Lord, for insect spray.

HOW TO MAKE A LIVING WILL

No, a living will is not a videotape of a person making a will. It has nothing to do with the
usual type of will that distributes property. A living will is a document by which a person
declares that he or she does not want artificial life support systems used if he or she becomes
terminally ill.

Modern science can often keep a body alive even if the brain is permanently dead, or if the
person is in constant pain. In recent years, all states have legalized living wills either by state
or by court decision.

A living will must be signed in front of two witnesses who should not be blood relatives or a
spouse. After completing the form you should provide your relatives, doctor and local
hospital with a copy. Forms can be obtained from a doctor or a hospital. They can even be
purchased at some stores.

RETIREMENT

I worked forty-five years for someone else so that I could retire.
I dreamed of sleeping late
And sitting by the fire.

I dreamed of long vacations,
Enjoying stage and song.
But, let me set you straight on that concept, It is simply wrong.

I did junk my safety glasses
And the work boots that cramped my toes. But, the rest of it had a
mind of it's own and this is how it goes.

My wife had been thinking of retirement
And had plans of her own.
She had spent much time with the kids,
But, now they are grown and gone.

We sold our cattle and horses,
So we wouldn't have that chore.
I poured concrete over my alarm clock
But, I still wake up at four.

I get my eyes checked on Monday.
She gets hers checked the next day.
I go for a colon check on Wednesday
And pass my wife going the other way.

I have a dental appointment o Thursday, She goes f
or a test on her heart.
Friday, we go get prescriptions filled
And browse a while at Wal-Mart.

Saturdays, we just stay home.
And try to get the paper work right.
We can't take any overnight trips
'Cause we can't see to drive at night.

Restroom confusion keeps us out of church on Sunday
And we really do hate that
There's nothing wrong with the restrooms. We just can't
remember where they're at.

We don't need to plan next week,
Just make sure we can drive,
And not forget where the hospitals and clinics are.
We'll need them to survive.

So, don't build your castles too high my friend,
While strolling through the clover.
This is a typical week in retirement
And on Monday, we start all over!

TIPS FOR COMMERCIAL MOWING

In the interest of performing lawn care to the best of our ability, we would like to offer some
helpful information that will give you a better understanding of how a commercial lawn service
operates. This information is beneficial to both you, the resident, and to us, in that it allows us to
perform our work with less damage and a higher degree of quality.

It is our sincere desire that we provide you with the best service available at a cost-effective price

1. LINE TRIMMING: Commonly called weed-eating this service is performed in front
of the mowers. Their job is to trim out areas that are congested to the point that the mowers
cannot maneuver in without risking damage. Also included is the line trimming of trees, planter
boxes, along the perimeter of the home and basically wherever the mower cannot go. This service
has the greatest potential to cause damage in that the line coming out of the head is self-feeding
and may suddenly feed out extending the line to damage the trunk of a small tree, plant or vinyl
siding. Because of this, we request that you protect these items from possible damage by
either making a bed or placing decorative bricks around small trees, and unprotected plants
that are not in beds. This allows the trimmer to cut only grass while performing his job. Any
unprotected damaged items will not be repaired or replaced by S & D. Any protected, yet
damaged items will be repaired or replaced by S & D in a timely manner.

2. VINYL Since the introduction of vinyl siding and skirting to homes such as yours we
have had a constant problem with line trimmers cutting them. As strong as this material is to the
elements it cuts like paper when a line trimmer comes in contact with it. This usually occurs on
the utility shed where the vinyl comes in contact with the ground. It is requested that you
examine this area for potential problems and protect it with either a metal kick-plate or
bricks or a bed.

3. FRUIT TREES & MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS: Please trim branches up so that
they are not growing on the ground or so close to the ground that the trimmers cannot reach into
the trunk area. Many citrus trees have thorns that can cause injury to our people while attempting
to trim under said trees. Trash and other items left in yard can be run over and damage caused to
our mowers and your homes.

4. CABLES & WIRES: In many Parks we have noticed especially cable TV lines that
are exposed to possible damage. In most cases this cable has been run over the brick skirtings
around the coach. They should remain buried up to the inside of the coach. Rather than going up
over the bricks they should be under the bottom brick and then go up. A/C thermostat wires
should be enclosed in a harness and tucked safely away from where the grass grows. Some
electric timers and valves to sprinkler systems are a possible problem.

On occasion accidents do happen and when they do we make repairs as quickly as
possible, however, taking care of these items allows us to concentrate on giving you a quality
service. We hope this is the spirit it is taken in and look forward to making your Park a place we
all can take pride in. Thank you.
